Hot Pink Lime :-) - An Amazing Fragrance for Soap!

I have fallen in love with this fragrance!  It is tart and sweet and just awesome :-) 

 

This fragrance oil was so easy to work and soap with.  I will be posting photos of the finished product soon.

I can't wait to share this soap with everyone - it was so much fun making it!  Wonderful, vibrant colors in a tiger swirl with an awesome piped top :-)

Casting a LOVE SPELL on YOU!

One of my most favorite fragrances is Victoria Secret's LOVE SPELL.   It's just a beautiful fragrance and here's the description:

sweet bouquet of mandarin orange, bergamot, and tangerine enhanced by hints of fresh peaches, strawberries, and raspberries on an undertone of white musk

The colors that I've chosen for swirls in this soap is orange, dark pink, and white.  The base will be "natural".    Then for the top, I will pipe white swirls and sprinkle with iridescent cosmetic glitter.

I can't wait to see how this soap looks after it all comes together!  Stick around - pictures coming soon! 

It's a Busy Time! What I'm Working ON :-) 2016-12-23

Yes, I know, it's almost Christmas!  And I'm so excited for the holidays!

But, at the same time, I'm so busy working to get everything set up and ready to open my business - KCherie' Handcrafted Bath and Body.   Don't you just love my new business logo?  I wanted something a little more simple - yet, at the same time, I wanted it to reflect all aspects of my business and the meaning of "Cherie'", which is "beloved".

My business will primarily be targeted toward the wholesale market but I will still retail some items on my website as well as my Etsy site.   The Etsy site will be for miscellaneous items (end pieces, small test batches, and some "over pours" that will be in cute shapes).  

Today I am working on a couple of items before I get started on soapmaking. 

First, I'm infusing candelula flowers in olive oil so I'll be able to make some "Puppy Paw Protector" wax.

I just finished rebatching a loaf of soap that seized on me - but the rebatch turned out really nice I think :-)

The original soap loaf was white with yellow, pink and green swirls (well, I was going to try to do swirls).   So I just added additional mica to the rebatch and made it purple - I used Nuture Soaps "Purple Vibrance" and then added a little bit of sparkly glitter to the top :-)

And lastly, I'm rebatching a loaf of 100% Olive Oil Castille soap.  I added just a bit too much sodium lactate (I should have used 1/2 the amount that it did) and it made the soap crumbly... so, let's see if a rebatch will do the trick.  So far it's looking pretty good in the crock pot! 

Etsy Store Re-opening SOON!

Yes, the store will be re-opening soon :-)  And, for the re-opening, I have a special FREE offer for my customers.

For the Etsy store grand re-opening, we will be offering FREE homemade laundry detergent samples - only for the cost of postage.  These samples will be made available 1 per person per address - on a first come basis.  Each sample will be enough for 10 medium loads of laundry.  I love this laundry detergent I make from a special soap recipe that I've developed. 

The FREE homemade laundry detergent samples will have OxyClean as an ingredient and will be fragranced (while homemade laundry detergent listings in my Etsy store will give you an option for with or without both OxyClean and fragrance or fragrance-free). 

My homemade laundry detergent recipe is great for HE machines and also works well in hot and warm water temperatures. 

Also, I am diversifying my business as well and will be adding a line of Open-Pollinated NON-GMO vegetable seeds!  I am very excited about this new business line.  Seeds will be priced VERY economically and will be available in small quantities for home gardeners and small homesteads.

OK, this is my FIRST blog post :-)  I'm excited about getting started and sharing the soap-making process with you and how I create gourmet soaps to sale in my Etsy store.  I also will be including my YouTube videos in my blog posts along with photos of my completed soaps. The first soap I will create for my blog will be a patriotic soap!
